How to Find the Best Vacuum Cleaner for Your Home

April 9, 2016

Cleaning the home is truly a daunting and tedious task that no one ever looks forward to. However, it is a task that needs to be done either daily or weekly depending on the need. Household help sounds like a very good idea but it does not do so much in terms of budgeting. As a result, most households resort to the most helpful tool that can make this daunting and tedious task a bit easier – vacuum cleaners.

However, despite the help of vacuum cleaners, there still are people who get frustrated from the lack of efficiency of certain products that result to wasted time and effort. This is why finding the best vacuum cleaner for your home is critical.

Four Key Questions to Make Your Purchase Easier Than Ever

By asking yourself just a few simple questions, you can be well on your way toward finding the perfect vacuum cleaner for your needs.

How often do you need to clean your home?

Let us all be realistic here: Not everyone has the capacity and time to clean the house every single day, even if you work from home. When you consider your frequency of cleaning as honestly as possible, you can best determine which vacuum cleaner will likely work to your benefit.

If you are the obsessive-compulsive type of person who cannot stand a single spot of dust and dirt anywhere in the house, then the lightweight stick model will work perfectly for you. However, if you are the type who waits until the end of the workweek in order to clean the house, then an upright or canister vacuum cleaner will work for you better as it provides more power to get the job done faster.

How dirty does your home get?

This question will determine how much power you need for your would-be vacuum cleaner. If for some reason, you think your house is full of dust and dirt all the time, then you might need a more powerful vacuum cleaner to suck it all out. Experts say that a vacuum cleaner with 200 watts of power or more is already a good indicator that you have a powerful vacuum cleaner on your hands.

It would also be helpful if you can do a little bit of research about the cyclonic action and filtering capability. Choose the one that filters the most, especially if you have anyone in the household with allergies.

Which style best serves your needs?

The bag-less vacuum cleaner might looks posh but does it fit your needs? Choosing the best vacuum cleaner is not about style. First and foremost, your decision should be based on functionality. Know your needs and pick out several style options depending on those needs. If you are a picky cleaner and hate getting your hands dirty, you should consider a vacuum cleaner with a disposable bag because this way, you will not get your hands dirty. If you happen to have allergies and would hate to have contact with the dust and dirt, this might also be the best option.

But if you are the more practical type and would not mind getting your hands dirty from time to time, then the bagless vacuum cleaners will work you and be cheaper in the long run. Many people asked me which type of vacuum I usually use for my house-working, and my suggestion is canister vacuum base on its variable usage and effectiveness. Now, you can ask yourself some simple questions and use the helpful canister vacuum cleaner reviews  to finally find the vacuum cleaner that makes sense for your home.

Are there any additional features you would wish to have?

Vacuum cleaners today come with a variety of additional features. However, you might have a hard time finding one with all the features that you want.
